It has medium resistance to both races of blackshank, along with resistance to black root rot and tobacco mosaic virus. Even with it’s early maturity it can produce very high yields. Unlike most varieties with such resistance, NBH 98 hybrid burley tobacco seed provides a much darker leaf at stripping time with very good tips.
