Hybrid Burley Varieties

NBH 98 has proven satisfactory to tobacco growers. For maximum yield top at an early stage. Level of Resistance: Black Shank, Race 0 - Medium, Race 1 - Medium; Mosaic - High, Black Root-Rot - Medium; Fusarium Wilt - Medium.

MS Burley 21 x KY 10 a variety of a stand-up type producing a large yield of good quality smoking tobacco. Level of Resistance: Mosaic - High; Wildfire - High; Fusarium Wilt - Low; Black Root-Rot - Medium Low.

MS KY 14x L8 a variety of stand-up type producing a high yield of good quality smoking tobacco. Level of Resistance: Wildfire - High; Mosaic - High; Fusarium Wilt - Medium; Black Root-Rot - Medium; Black Shank, Race 0 - High, but No Resistance to Race 1.

KY 910 a low yielding hybrid variety of tobacco. Level of Resistance: Mosaic - High; Black Root-Rot - High; Black Shank, Race 0 - High, Race 1 - Medium; and resistant to Virus Complex.

TN 97 offers improved Black Shank resistance and yield potential compared to TN 90 and is intended primarily for producers with Black Shank problems who like TN 90 but need improved Black Shank control. It has virus resistance comparable to TN 90.

KT 200 is a variety with multiple disease resistance. The weight is somewhat high than other Black Shank varieties although somewhat higher than other Black Shank varieties although the grade index of cured leaf quality has been lower than some varieties under some curing conditions. Level of Resistance; Black Shank, Race 0 - Medium, Race 1 - Medium; Black Root-Rot - High; Wildfire - High; Mosaic - High; and is Virus Complex resistant.
